Come and join us on Sunday mornings, as we celebrate the Good News, and learn
more fully what it is to be a Christian.
In Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus teaches that the first and greatest commandment is that
"You will Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and all your
mind. And the second is that you should love your neighbor as yourself." These
great commandments emphasize the importance of Love! We must love each other
as ourselves, but if we cannot first love ourselves, we surely cannot love others.
Come let us help you learn to love yourself...we are all special in the eyes of the
First Church of Winsted is committed to helping each other and our surrounding
communities. We strive to help our neighbors in need, locally with donations to the
Winsted Greater Area Food Bank, and the Open Door Soup Kitchen, and through
our mission offerings, we can even help on a more global level.

MUDDY BOOTS PRAISE CHOIR:
Muddy Boots started in the fall of 2014, inspired by Danny Jones shortly after
the K-Love radio station came to CT. He wanted to share a different kind of
praise music with the congregation. He was then joined by his daughter
Ashley Fontanez (Jones), John Eggering on percussion/vocals and Justin
Takeman on guitar/vocals.
The praise group occasionally features other local musical talents and joyful
voices as well such as; Steve Roys and Rachel Seleman recently. The group
sings regularly during Sunday morning worship covering songs from artists
such as Unspoken, Third Day, Casting Crowns, Needtobreathe and Lincoln
Brewster. Muddy Boots has been featured at Steam Vent Coffee House,
performed at a retreat at Mary Our Queen in Southington, CT and
performed at Harmony for Hunger at Second Congregational Church.
Muddy Boots hopes to find more venues and opportunities to spread the
message in the future.
