Day 5

Birthday and Laundry Day

Happy 15th Birthday, Cam!! Jenna had posted a Happy Birthday sign with hand drawn balloons so he saw the sign as soon as he came down the stairs this morning.

Mike made fresh blueberry pancakes and Kirsten was on regular and turkey bacon duty. Pancakes were enjoyed by all! Everyone was informed that not only was it Cam’s birthday, but it was LAUNDRY DAY!

Anything that needed laundering was bagged up and Debby ran it out to the neighborhood laundry. Alec led the youth in prayer and then Mike led the group in prayer and we were off to Tiny Pine! When the Birthday Boy was asked for a quote for his birthday, Cam replied: “When life gives you lemons, you go to Winco for candy!” Obviously last night had an impact! Upon arrival, Alyssa had a plan for all of us! Cam, Aiden, Alec and Jenna stayed with me at Tiny Pine. Alec and I were glad to be back working with Uncle Dave. Our to-do list was to wipe down the outside of the house to prepare for another coat of paint, clean up the lot around the tiny house, and start painting inside! We cleaned off the dust in record time with more hands to work. As we like to say at First Church, many hands make light work!

Mike and Laura used the Tiny Pine truck to pick up insulation at Meeke’s for the Concow location. We will hopefully be able to install it tomorrow!

Debby, Kirsten, Jay, Lia, and Julian traveled to Feather Falls. They continued to work on the insulation job there and, through perseverance and God’s will, completed it! Jay also took care of some punch list items for an upcoming inspection.

After returning home, all clean laundry was dispersed. Sadly, Lia’s favorite shorts were missing. Hopefully, they will turn up! It’s Taco Tuesday! Soft and hard tacos with seasoned turkey or beef and all the fixings! Mike picked up an ice cream cake to celebrate Cam’s big 15!

Adults thoroughly enjoyed the skits the youth put on tonight. What creativity they possess! We all went to bed with full bellies and smiles on our faces. God Bless Us.
