DAY 7

6am, More work, 112 and In-N-Out

Today was an early day, up at 6am, breakfast and out the door by 7:20. The team split into two groups and one headed to a house up in Con Cow where Michelle and her young daughter, Aurora who is two, will live which is having the finishing touches before it will be dedicated on Friday. After the trenching was completed, there was one item that the inspector wanted done which was to grade the soil up to the top of the foundation. There was a massive pile of dirt and stone which needed to be moved and graded by shovel.

Mike, Julian, Aiden and Chaz took on that challenge while Lia, Laura, Sierra, Debby, Jay, Alec and Cam went to a home also up in Con Cow, though about 30 minutes away which is being built for Sandra who lives very close to a house the group helped build a few years ago. The drive is beautiful ever with some burn areas, as we head up into the mountains and the view are fantastic.

The second group began laying wood plank flooring in Sandra’s tiny house which definitely had a learning curve before we finally got the hang of it. Temperatures got up into the 111 to 113 range during the day and by the end of the day (it was past 7pm) we were so exhausted that Mike suggested In-N-Out Burgers and shakes and we all said Yes! After dinner Mike and Chaz headed to Home Depot, the laundry mat and Winco for more food. The rest of us went home and showered and went bed long before Mike and Chaz ever came back.
